Attention: Convention Schedule Modification


As we gather this evening with all the delegations, we wanted to let you know that delegates, alternates and guests will be able to participate in a variety of activities this week to support hurricane relief efforts. We will be communicating to your delegation leadership the details as they become available.

Tomorrow’s convention schedule will be amended to the following to only conduct the official business of the convention:

Republican National Convention Session 1

Monday, September 1, 2008, 2:30 PM - 5:00 PM

GOP Express Shuttle Hours

12:30 PM: GOP Express Shuttle Service commences from hotels to the Xcel Energy Center

2:30 PM: GOP Express Shuttles make their last departures from hotels to the Xcel Energy Center

*There will be no shuttle service from the Xcel Energy Center to hotels between 2:30 PM and 4:30 PM

5:00 PM: GOP Express Shuttle Service from the Xcel Energy Center to hotels begins

6:30 PM: GOP Express Shuttles make their last departure from the Xcel Energy Center to hotels

There will be no GOP Express shuttle service after 6:30 PM

About the Republican National Convention
The 2008 Republican National Convention will be held at Saint Paul's Xcel Energy Center from Sept. 1-4, 2008. Approximately 45,000 delegates, alternate delegates, volunteers, members of the media and other guests are expected to attend the convention. Minneapolis-Saint Paul is expected to receive an estimated $150-$160 million positive economic boost from the four-day event.
