Palin Accused Obama Of Palling Around With Terrorist

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (AP) - Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin on Saturday accused Democrat Barack Obama of "palling around with terrorists" because of his association with a former 1960s radical, stepping up the campaign's effort to portray Obama as unacceptable to American voters.

Palin told a group of donors at a private airport, "Our opponent ... is someone who sees America, it seems, as being so imperfect, imperfect enough, that he's palling around with terrorists who would target their own country." She also said, "This is not a man who sees America as you see America and as I see America

O.J. Sampson Going To Prision This Time

Simpson Guilty On All Charges

LAS VEGAS (AP) - O.J. Simpson, who went from American sports idol to celebrity-in-exile after he was acquitted of murder in 1995, was found guilty Friday of robbing two sports-memorabilia dealers at gunpoint in a Las Vegas hotel room.
Simpson, 61, could spend the rest of his life in prison. Sentenced was set for Dec. 5.
A weary and somber Simpson released a heavy sigh as the charges were read by the clerk in Clark County District Court. He was immediately taken into custody.
The Hall of Fame football star was convicted of kidnapping, armed robbery and 10 other charges for gathering up five men a year ago and storming into a room at a hotel-casino, where the group seized several game balls, plaques and photos. Prosecutors said two of the men with him were armed; one of them said Simpson asked him to bring a gun.

Palin Says Obama Not Qualified To Be President

Cameron Interviews Post-Debate Palin
by Shushannah Walshe
ST. LOUIS –- Fox News’ Carl Cameron conducted the first post-debate interview with Sarah Palin this morning. The extensive interview went over last night’s Vice-Presidential face off, her debate prep, campaign strategy, media access and the hits she has been getting for not having more access to the media, and of course the much talked about and criticized interview she did with CBS’s Katie Couric.

She then slammed Barack Obama calling him disqualified to be President of the United States, “Some of his comments that he has made about the war that I think may — in my world– disqualifies someone from consideration as the next commander in chief.” Palin said, “Some of his comments about Afghanistan and what we are doing there supposedly– just air raiding villages and killing civilians. That’s reckless. So I wanted to talk about things like that. So I guess I have to apologize about being a little annoyed, but that is also an indication of being outside that Washington elite and being outside the media elite also and just wanting to talk and just wanting to talk to Americans without the filter and let them know what we stand for.”

Bail Out

The Senate-passed bipartisan economic rescue plan improves the original House bill by adding significant new protections for taxpayers on Main Street.

Increases the amount of bank deposits insured by the government from $100,000 to $250,000 through 2009. The Senate-passed bipartisan economic rescue plan protects individuals and small business owners by increasing the amount of bank and credit union deposits insured by the government. The current limit of $100,000 was set 28 years ago and has not been adjusted for inflation. This will help small business owners and entrepreneurs meet their bottom lines and make payroll. This provision was put forward by House Republicans during last week’s bipartisan talks only to be rejected by Democratic negotiators.
Protects 21 million middle-class families from getting hammered by the Alternative Minimum Tax (AMT) for tax year 2008. The Senate-passed bipartisan economic rescue plan protects working families from the AMT – an unfair tax, initially intended to affect only the wealthy, that middle-class Americans were never meant to pay. Without action, 21 million middle-class families will be hit with an average tax hike of $2,500.
Extends critical energy tax credits and incentives to encourage conservation and the development of renewable energy technologies. Just days after the American people saw the 27-year ban on exploration for American offshore energy expire, House Republicans continue to push for an all-of-the-above energy strategy that helps lower gas prices and lessens our dependence on foreign countries that don’t like us very much.
Extends tax deductions on state and local sales taxes. In past years through Republican tax relief, taxpayers have been given the option to claim state and local sales taxes instead of state and local income taxes when they itemize deductions. This deduction mainly benefits taxpayers in states with a state or local sales tax but no income tax — including Alaska, Florida, Nevada, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Washington and Wyoming.
Reaffirms the steps the SEC has taken to ease harmful “mark-to-market” accounting rules. The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has issued accounting guidelines that allow banks to move away from “mark-to-market” accounting rules – outdated regulations that artificially undervalue good mortgage assets and have helped exacerbate this economic crisis. It was House Republicans who insisted that the bipartisan economic rescue plan include “mark-to-market” reform.

As before, this emergency legislation is a rescue for Main Street and American taxpayers. Republicans successfully included measures to ensure Wall Street pays its fair share and secured maximum taxpayer protections for Main Street.

Federal insurance program protects taxpayers, forces Wall Street to share the burden: Requires the establishment of an insurance guarantee program that in lieu of purchasing assets with taxpayer funds is available to insure assets at no cost to the taxpayer. Costs would be fully paid for by participating companies (i.e. those receiving the assistance). Assets insured by the program would count against the total funds the Secretary would otherwise have available to make purchases.
Up-front Treasury authority cut in half: Secretary Paulson’s original proposal sought $700 billion in up-front, immediate authority. The new economic rescue plan cuts this up-front authority in half. The Treasury would have $250 billion in immediate authority, with another $100 billion available after the Secretary reports to Congress. Congress has the authority to withhold the remaining $350 billion.

Taxpayers protected against losses: Taxpayers would be first in line to recoup losses from participating financial institutions in the event they fail or lose money – not shareholders and certainly not corporate executives.

No golden parachutes for Wall Street: Irresponsible corporate executives at participating institutions will not be rewarded with golden parachutes or severance pay.

Protection for community banks from Wall Street excess: The rescue plan helps local community banks across the country by allowing them to write off losses on Fannie and Freddie mortgage assets they hold.
A temporary program: Treasury’s authority to take toxic, “illiquid” assets off the balance sheets of financial institutions expires on Dec. 31, 2009. The Treasury Secretary can extend the authority for an additional year upon certification to Congress.
House Republicans successfully ensured this critical economic rescue bill did not become a vehicle for partisan, special interest demands.

No liberal slush funds: Democrats wanted to direct 20 percent of the revenues from the program into a slush fund for ultraliberal allies like ACORN. Republicans successfully demanded it be dropped.

No trial lawyer giveaways: Democrats wanted trial lawyer giveaways that would punish responsible borrowers and help their political allies by allowing bankruptcy judges to unilaterally rewrite mortgage terms. Republicans successfully demanded it be dropped.

No Big Labor paybacks: Democrats wanted to continue their two-years-long Big Labor payback by giving union bosses seats on the boards of participating financial companies. Republicans successfully demanded it be dropped.

Bipartisan oversight and accountability: Democrats wanted to stock a seven-member oversight board with five Democrats and only two Republicans. House Republicans successfully demanded the panel be truly bipartisan with an equal number of Democrats and Republicans

Congress Bail Out Explained By Congressman Cole

Congressman Tom Cole called today explaining why he voted yes on the bail out. He also explained about the so called pork that was attached to the bill. I respect Congressman Cole and the job he has done for Oklahoma. I believe Congressman Cole did the best thing for our country. Congressman Cole agreed to speak to the luncheon club and answer questions for as long as it takes. He said he will answer question until midnight if that is what it takes.

After listening to the Congressman talk about the bail out, one major issue Congress has is the press. The press would like nothing better than to get all the Republicans mad and throw up their hands in disgust.

Congressman Cole shared with me that he realizes his vote was not popular with his constituents. He received a lot of calls asking him to vote no. He discussed this bill with his colleagues in Congress and Senator Coburn. He believes, without a doubt, if this bail out of Freddie and Fannie did not takes place it would throw us further into a recession and then later into a depression. Businesses in Oklahoma were already having to pay higher interest rates on loans. At the same time that myself and others were calling asking for a no vote, large corporations in Oklahoma were asking for a yes vote.

Here are some facts that, I believe will interest everyone. This is a PR nightmare for Congress.

1. The so called pork that was included in the bail out was actually extensions of tax cuts. They were not new items.
2. The so called pork concerning Native Americans 168J has actually been in existence since 1992. The bill is a land tax credit that has to do with Indian land. Most Oklahomans will benefit from this tax credit extension. This bill was first introduced in 1992 by David Boren.
3. The wooden arrows that we have heard so much about had to do with a tax issue on arrows. The so called pork was to clean up a bill on this same subject that Congress passed last year.
4. Bottom line most of the so called pork were actually tax credits not pork.

In the end, sometimes it is best to manage a bad situation rather than to just disagree with it and go on. You can vote on principle but without action it means nothing. I have talked to a few other elected officials in the County and the state that stated that Congressman Cole spoke to them personally. This was a hard vote to take a stance on and Congressman Cole took it very seriously. We all should appreciate that.

State Democrat Chairman an Idiot

Please read the below press release. Now, I have to say this is nothing but a bunch of crap. Sensationalism 101. It sounds like something Wallace Collins would put out. The fact is, not enough Democrats want an Obama sign in their yard. At the State Fair we had 10 to 30 people in line requesting McCain/Palin yard signs during daily. They were charging $1.00 a sign. At the Democrat booth they could not even give Obama signs away. McCain/ Palin signs have been stolen all over Norman, that is part of politics. The Democrat State chair and his followers are a bunch of cry babies, wimps, Sissy's and idiots. Obama will get beat in Oklahoma like a drum!!

Congress Use Scare Tactics

Congress bails out Wall Street with a bunch of pork. Of all the years, I have followed politics this bail out is the worst way to spend our money that, I have ever seen. The bail out stinks and the pork stinks. Congress kept telling us how important it was to get this bail out passed immediately. If the bail out was so important to get passed, why did the Seenate spend so much time adding the pork? So, why approve all the pork, why not just approve the Freddie and Fannie bail out? Senator Coburn, the one man that all of us thought we could depend on to protect our money, folded just like the rest of Congress. All of us taxpayers did nothing to cause this mess, yet we are asked, no we were told, that our money will be used to bail out these people that can't spend our money wisely! Barney Frank, who was in charge of the committee that over sees Fannie and Freddie, should be fired. If he was in charge of any company, in the world that went under, he would be fired and rightfully so.

The bail out and the pork that Congress voted in favor of will cost the Republicans votes this election cycle. Already people are asking what is the difference between a Democrat and a Republican? They both vote for pork. Even after we sent emails and called Congress to vote no, they voted yes. They did not listen to the voter. They acted like our opinion doesn't matter.

On the other hand, was Congress telling us everything? If not, that is even worse. If Congress cannot be honest with the American people, oh why even go there, they are not honest with us and we let them get away with it. The bail out sucks and the pork attached to the bail out sucks.
Bob

Debate

Sarah Palin did an excellent job last night. She did not talk like a politician she talked just like your neighbor next door. She talked to the American people. Biden, on the other hand, had a response even before he heard the complete question. He answered questions sometimes with a real mean expression on his face. He answered the questions so fast it makes one wonder if he knew the questions before the debate.

Bob

Here We Go Again

Have you heard that California is broke? Now they will want Congress to bail them out. Based on Congress' record, I am sure they will spend more of our money bailing out, yet another bunch of liberals that can't budget their money. Not only will they help California out, I wonder how much pork will be included with this bail out?
How can we ever trust anything Congress tells us!

RUSH: I'd like to say something to you Democrats and independents who have not yet made up your minds (and I know that you are out there) especially those of you who are leaning toward Obama. I want to ask you a question. I want you to ask yourselves a simple question. Apart from wanting a new party in place -- apart from wanting a fresh face in the White House, apart from wanting somebody you think speaks well -- you need to take deep, deep, deep look inside yourselves and ask this: "What exactly has Obama ever done in his life? What has he done as a state senator, what has he done as a United States senator, that proves leadership? Why is it that Joe Biden has been rejected time and again in the Democrat primaries, receiving less than 1% in the Iowa caucuses? What suddenly makes either of these men leaders? What suddenly makes them qualified? Simply because Obama got the nomination and he chose Biden?" When you examine Obama's career, you basically see two things, and only two things. You see a man (a man-child) who has spent his life both as a college and law student and as an adult, working hand-in-hand with domestic terrorists.

Senator Inhofe Votes No

The Senate just voted on the bailout, and I voted no.

After spending time in Oklahoma meeting with my constituents, local business leaders, and elected officials, I could not, in good conscience, vote to approve a massive taxpayer-funded rescue plan that was so hastily crafted.

Too little time was allowed for reading and comprehension of this bill. Insufficient time was allowed for proper discussion and debate on a bill with a $700 billion price tag. $700 billion dollars of your taxpayer money.

Certainly our nation faces a financial markets crisis that requires action. Unfortunately, it remains unclear if this bill is the right action. I believe it is much more important to get it right than to rush it through.

My vote tonight was against the Paulson plan, not against taking extraordinary action to provide necessary confidence to financial markets. The plan before us would have bureaucrats in Washington attempt to do what the experts on Wall Street can't do - value troubled assets.
From the very beginning, it was the Paulson plan or no plan. It is Congress's duty to examine its options, deliberate, come to a decision that has the support of America, and act. I regret we were not allowed to do that.

Sincerely,
Jim Inhofe

Stupid Voters

It amazes me to see the Presidential polling. McCain and Obama are basically even. McCain has many years of not only experience but a record of how he will govern. At times he has drove conservative Republicans crazy and other times he has been our champion.

Then there is Obama. He has been in the US Senate for 2 years and he sometimes does not even recognize that he is among the top fifty of the government. He has no real convictions to speak of or at least has not expressed them. He has changed his stances on the war against terror, drilling off shore and taxes just to name a few. But one continued rhetoric Obama has uttered is - "the failed Bush economy", "we need a bailout for main street not Wall Street."

This comes to my point, this is a true ism that is often times frustrating.

"Smart people and stupid people get equal airtime. And since stupid people tend to shout longer and louder than people who have acquired wisdom and judgment, ignorance usually prevails."

We cannot let ignorance prevail. We must continue to shout just as long and just as loud.

Wall Street Bailout Full of Pork

Here are some of the special-interest provisions that are now part of the Wall Street bailout legislation. The bill started at 3 pages, grew to 106 pages, and is now 451 pages.

? Wooden Arrows designed for use by children (Sec. 503)
? 6 page package of earmarks for litigants in the 1989 Exxon Valdez incident, Alaska (Sec. 504)
? Virgin Island and Puerto Rican Rum (Section 308)
? American Samoa (Sec. 309)
? Mine Rescue Teams (Sec. 310)

County Democrats Copy Helen Cole Banquet

Looks like even the Democrats here in Cleveland County have run out of original ideas. Democrats in Washington DC and at the State Capitol ran out of ideas many years ago, but now their lack of original ideas has even trickled down to Cleveland County! Since it began in 2000, the Helen Cole Republican Awards Banquet has been the biggest and most successful fundraiser for Republicans in Cleveland County year after year. This banquet has been a forum to recognize party activists and to raise money through silent auction. For the past 8 years we’ve had this event at the JD McCarty Center. Now a leftist blog reports that the Cleveland County Democrat Party is having its awards banquet, to “Honor the 2008 Distinguished Democrat Award Winner County Commissioner Leroy Krohmer and the Cleveland County Activist Award Winners”. Except for the fact that they are honoring one of the most controversial, good ole boys in County Commissioner history, does this event sound familiar? And guess where it’s being held? At the JD McCarty Center! Someone once said that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. It looks like the Democrats here in Cleveland County must really be flattered by the success Republicans have had with the Helen Cole Republican of The Year Banquet. The 2009 Helen Cole Awards Banquet, honoring the top Republican volunteers and featuring invited speakers David Barton, (one of the most popular Republican speakers in the nation), Mary Fallin, Tom Cole and Senator Pro-Tempore Glenn Coffee, Senator Tom Coburn. Banquet will be January 27th at the new Embassy Suites where it can hold up to 1800. Mark your calendar and buy your tickets $50.00 each.

Library Makes Bold PR Move

What a great PR move for the Library.

Library fines could dent credit report
By M. Scott Carter
The Norman Transcript
NORMAN — That overdue library fine could cost you more than just your library card.

It could hurt your credit rating, too.

This week, administrators with the Pioneer Library System announced that customers "with $50 or more in long overdue library charges" could soon "feel the bite in their credit rating if accounts are not cleared."

Under the new policy, library spokesman Gary Kramer said Pioneer would turn over its "long overdue" material accounts to the Unique National Collections, a collection agency specializing in library debts.

"We're trying to be good stewards of our materials," Kramer said. "We've been writing off lost materials for years. This is a way to stop that."

Kramer said the system has $1,496,397 in outstanding fines since 1992, and that 3.6 percent (more than 7,000 customers) of Pioneer's 186,000-plus cardholders owe more than $50 in library fines.

And those 7,000 customers could be turned over to the library's collection agency, he said.

"We hope they'll (cardholders with fines) will react by bringing our stuff back," he said. "We go though a lengthy process to try and get materials returned. But I think there will be people, certainly, who get stung by this."

Kramer said the system tries to keep fines from "getting out of control" by suspending library privileges for those who owe $10 or more.

However, he said many customers face fines of several hundred dollars due to unreturned materials or charges on multiple cards in the same family.

Kramer defined "long overdue" as materials the library has been trying to recover, or an account the system has tried to recover for more than 60 days.

Library CEO Anne Masters said library officials have an obligation to protect the system's materials.

"We take our role as responsible stewards of the public trust very seriously. Part of that stewardship is the obligation to protect, maintain and account for the materials in our care. Our goal is keeping our library materials in circulation and available to customers," Masters said in a media statement. "Our public libraries are supported by the taxpayers of Cleveland, McClain and Pottawatomie counties."

She said the collection agency would begin contacting delinquent card-holders Oct. 15 in a "trial implementation of the service."

"We are not taking this action to be punitive and we did not make the decision easily," Masters said. "We encourage anyone who has an outstanding library debt to talk with their librarian. We are anxious to work with our customers to resolve their accounts. We want to keep them as customers."

Masters said the trial run was to see if the results "warranted continuing with the service."

She said the collection agency charges $10 for every account processed.

And while some libraries have come under intense scrutiny for using collection agencies, Masters said she hoped the policy wasn't controversial here.

"I hope people would think it's good that were making every reasonable effort to be responsible stewards of the taxpayers' money," she said.

She said the system has declared an amnesty weekend on October 4-5.

Overdue materials which are returned to the library on Saturday, Oct. 4, or Sunday, Oct. 5, will be checked in and all charges that have accrued for those materials will be waived.

However, the program applies only to items returned to the library in good condition and does not cover existing fines for items previously returned, copy charges or other library debts.

After Oct. 5, she said, all outstanding charges on customer records will stand. "We hope many of them take advantage of Library Amnesty Weekend," she said.

Masters said some customers feel they own the material since it was paid for with tax dollars. "But that ownership is shared with more than 300,000 central Oklahoma residents who also have a right to the same materials."

The Streets Of San Francisco

Linda Harvey went to San Francisco to see first hand what the Homosexuals are up to. Read her review.

The Streets of San Francisco, Part 2:
Folsom Street Fair Seeks to Normalize Public Nudity and Sex Violence

by Linda Harvey

WARNING: GRAPHIC CONTENT
The need
to pass California’s Proposition 8, upholding marriage between one man and one
woman, has never been greater in my view after spending an afternoon at the San
Francisco Folsom Street Fair on September 28.With well over 100,000 attendees,
it’s unfortunately the third largest street event in California.

Folsom Street displayed the fully ripened rotten fruit of ‘tolerance’ and
showed where it takes us: toward public nudity, public sex and consensual sex
violence. The goal of same sex ‘marriage’ is the legitimate-appearing sister
with an ugly evil twin: the movement toward total pansexual license throughout
our culture. And concern for the effect on kids? Out the window.

Along with the heads of several other pro-family groups, I spent four
excruciating hours walking through the fair, documenting its horrors. One might
ask, why bother? Two reasons. Here in San Francisco, most no longer have a
problem with such outlandish behavior. These radical, misguided and lost people
need to be challenged out of their comfort with this depravity. Can any of them
be pulled from this fire?

But local officials seem entrenched in the endorsement of depravity. Mayor
Gavin Newsom issued a letter last week congratulating the Fair on its 25 year
anniversary. U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, third in line for the presidency,
represents San Francisco but she has yet to utter a word of criticism against
the Fair, even with its history of virulent anti-Christian blasphemy.

The folks in San Francisco are woefully out of touch with mainstream America.
Do you find whipping, being tied up (bondage) and master-slave role playing
just normal variations of sexual behavior? We didn’t think so. But we had a
chance to talk with the spokesperson for a national sado-masochism group, Susan
Wright, who believes conservatives are few and far between, greatly eclipsed by
a majority who accept these behaviors. She also thinks sado-masochism is an
inborn “sexual orientation,” worthy at some point of legal recognition. In
other words, some people are genetically wired to desire being whipped or
chained for sexual pleasure. Current sexual orientation policies could be
utilized to establish this new identity category, she believes.

What we witnessed at the Fair was almost beyond belief. Half or more of the
crowd consisted of homosexual men, some fully nude. The smell of marijuana was
everywhere. Masters and their ‘slaves’ strolled about. One man and woman were
wrapped in pythons. Many college age kids and young adults were present.

We witnessed at least one open sex act, and many more episodes of male-to- male
groping. Several vendor areas featured sado-masochistic acts. At one, they held
a ‘charity whipping.’ The Fair itself donates much of its revenue to charity,
which evidently excuses the perversion. Some goes to the Sisters of Perpetual
Indulgence, the twisted men-in-drag so infamous for mocking Christianity,
heterosexuality and the Catholic church. The ‘sisters’ collect the entrance fee
donations at the Fair gates. When I asked for an interview, one of them
declined when he learned I was with a conservative Christian group.

In an extended conversation with the ‘eighteen-year-old,’ I was told his
parents didn’t care what he did. He held a triple X-rated ‘gay’ porn DVD
evidently obtained at the Fair. Yet he was eager to talk to me, insisting he
did not want to be homosexual and had tried to stop since he was eleven. I
challenged him: then why are you here? Do you really want to stop? If so, don’t
come to events like this. He said he just couldn’t help himself. I gently urged
him to re-think his identity—that God had made him a guy, wonderfully able to
have a relationship with a girl. He nodded. ‘I know,’ he said.

Just at that moment, before we could continue, the youth’s ‘boyfriend’ began
screeching insults and obscenities at me. ‘You’re an *&##!’ He continued this
screeching rant, growing louder and more out of control, until finally, a
passer-by said, 'Oh, leave her alone!' We never continued the dialogue, because
the group of boys disappeared into the crowd.

We spoke with police twice, after noting their consistent failure to detain any
of the naked men strolling by. I asked a policeman why they didn’t do something
about the nudity. He told us that his supervisors had given instructions to
leave it alone. We got truly mixed signals about the legality of public nudity
and public sex acts. Liberty Counsel researched California law and found that
three California state laws (Sections 311.6, 313 and 314 of the California
Code) applied to public indecency, with jail time of up to six months. And
signs going into the Fair announced, ‘Nudity is Illegal.’ With so many openly
nude men, this was almost comical.

Among other vendors was the San Francisco Department of Health, with two huge
penises in their booth, presumably so their public health oversight could be
taken seriously. AIDS education groups were also present, using taxpayer funds
wisely. Also on hand was one of my personal favorite groups, PFLAG, Parents,
Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays. While we will not be able to show
them to you in a pro-family context, it was easy to photograph nude men posing
for cameras in front of the PFLAG booth. PFLAG is a consistent advocate of
homosexuality and gender change among teens and even children.

This de-humanization is actually regressive. There’s nothing new here: it’s
primitive tribalism and the sins of the Old Testament pagan nations
reincarnated, spiraling downward into barbarism. Only the sane and discerning
can save California and the rest of America from its debased exports.

Christ came to save people from drowning in their own excess, but in the City
by the Bay, drowning is not only apparently acceptable, it is eagerly pursued.
So sad.

Jim Roth Makes Gay's Top 10 List

Record Number of Gay Political Candidates

on 09-30-2008 17:01

The Gay & Lesbian Victory Fund announced Tuesday it has endorsed 100 openly lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) political candidates in 2008, making this endorsement slate the group's largest ever.
LGBT candidates are running for offices at all levels of government, from school boards to the U.S. Congress, according to the group.

Chuck Wolfe, the Victory Fund's president and CEO, said the surge in openly LGBT candidates in 2008 reflects the community's growing willingness to embrace political leadership as a path to change: "I think reaching this milestone is a testament to a new attitude in our community about how to achieve political change. We don't have to accept sitting on the sidelines and hoping others will do the heavy lifting. We can roll up our sleeves and do it ourselves."
The Victory Fund expects to continue endorsing candidates for a few more weeks, according to Laura Esquivel, senior vice president for political affairs. "This is a really exciting political season for the LGBT community. We're extremely proud of the out candidates who are stepping up to run for office all across America, and of the role that the Victory Fund plays in preparing and supporting these candidates. We'll endorse in even more races in the next couple of weeks, putting us well past 100 candidates for the year," Esquivel said.
The Victory Fund is the nation's largest LGBT political action committee, and the only national organization dedicated to increasing the number of out elected officials at all levels of government. Since its founding in 1991, the number of openly LGBT elected officials in the U.S. has grown from less than 50 to more than 420.

10 Victory Fund Highlight Races

.Jim Roth — Corporation Commission, Oklahoma — Jim Roth was appointed to this powerful statewide regulatory commission by Gov. Brad Henry after winning two terms on the Oklahoma County Commission. He is now running to keep the seat. Roth would become the first openly gay statewide elected official in Oklahoma.

Jason Bartlett — State Representative, Connecticut — Rep. Bartlett came out in 2008 during his current term, making him one of only two openly gay African-American state legislators in the U.S. His reelection would confirm that serving honestly and openly as LGBT is not a barrier to retaining the trust of constituents.

• Kate Brown — Secretary of State, Oregon — Sen. Kate Brown, who currently serves as the Democratic Leader in the Oregon Senate, would become the first openly LGBT Secretary of State in the U.S. In Oregon, the office is the second-highest ranking elected post behind the governor.

• Linda Ketner — U.S. Representative, South Carolina — Linda Ketner is a longtime businesswoman, community activist and philanthropist who is seeking to represent South Carolina's 1st Congressional District in the House of Representatives. She faces an entrenched Republican incumbent, but the state’s political press says Ketner's campaign has made the race competitive.

• Kevin Lee — State Representative, Pennsylvania — Kevin Lee would become the Keystone State's first out representative, which would be a milestone for Pennsylvania's substantial LGBT community. Kevin hopes to represent a swing district in suburban Philadelphia.

• Andrew Martin—State Representative, Nevada — Andrew Martin is seeking a seat in the Nevada Assembly, where he would be the only out state representative. Current state Rep. David Parks, who is also openly gay, is running for the State Senate.

.Sara Orozco—State Senate, Massachusetts — Sara Orozco would be the only openly LGBT state senator in Massachusetts. She faces a notoriously anti-gay incumbent.

• John Perez—State Assembly, California — If elected, John Perez would become the first openly LGBT person of color elected to the California legislature. Perez' strong support from both the labor and LGBT groups reflects growing alliances between the two communities.

• Jared Polis — U.S. Representative, Colorado — Jared Polis, the former chairman of the Colorado State Board of Education, won a hard-fought Democratic primary to represent the 2nd Congressional District. If elected, Jared would become the first openly gay man elected to Congress as a non-incumbent.

. Lupe Valdez — Sheriff, Dallas County, Texas — Lupe Valdez became the first woman, the first Latina and the first out lesbian ever elected to this post when she won in 2004. Republicans, still smarting from having lost the seat for the first time in a century, have targeted this county-wide race.

SQ 741 Vote No

I received my absentee ballot and have a problem with State Question 741. SQ 741 concerns our property taxes. The bottom line is SQ 741 is good for the counties but bad for the taxpayers and especially for our military veterans. In my opinion Oklahoma County Assessor Leonard Sullivan's letter to the editor in The Oklahoman Monday supporting SQ 741 is nothing but a scare tactics. Mr. Sullivan got it all wrong – the tax payers are the real losers in this ballot proposal. This proposal, if passed, will prevent taxpayers from claiming property tax exemptions to which they are entitled to by law, if they do not file for them within a certain time period. All tax payers should vote no! All concerned taxpayers should ask Mr. Sullivan and other tax hogs, “why should government work only one way?” If the government discovers that they did not charge you enough on your past year taxes they can go back and claim revenue – even if several years have gone by! . They do this through the, “Tax Rolls Correction Board”. And all 77 counties in the state have one.
What is wrong with the taxpayers being given the same rights as their government? SQ 741 is bad for the senior citizens, bad for our veterans and just plain bad for the taxpayers. As a conservative Republican, opposed to further taxation, I am completely surprised that our Republicans in the Legislature put this stinker on the ballot without actually checking out how it hurts the average taxpayers.
Vote NO!!!

Obama Is Reason

Don't forget to read the very bottom even if you just scan through these men's issues.

Here is a quick look into 3 former Fannie Mae executives who have brought down Wall Street:

Franklin Raines was a Chairman and Chief Executive Officer at Fannie Mae. Raines was forced to retire from his position with Fannie Mae when auditing discovered severe irregulaties in Fannie Mae's accounting activities. At the time of his departure The Wall Street Journal noted, ' Raines, who long defended the company's accounting despite mounting evidence that it wasn't proper, issued a statement late Tuesday conceding that 'mistakes were made' and saying he would assume responsibility as he had earlier promised. News reports indicate the company was under growing pressure from regulators to shake up its management in the wake of findings that the company's books ran afoul of generally accepted accounting principles for four years.' Fannie Mae had to reduce its surplus by $9 billion.

Raines left with a 'golden parachute valued at $240 Million in benefits. The Government filed suit against Raines when the depth of the accounting scandal became clear. http://housingdoom.com/2006/12/18/fannie-charges/ . The Government noted, 'The 101 charges reveal how the individuals improperly manipulated earnings to maximize their bonuses, while knowingly neglecting accounting systems and internal controls, misapplying over twenty accounting principles and misleading the regulator and the public. The Notice explains how they submitted six years of misleading and inaccurate accounting statements and inaccurate capital reports that enabled them to grow Fannie Mae in an unsafe and unsound manner.' These charges were made in 2006. The Court ordered Raines to return $50 Million Dollars he received in bonuses based on the miss-stated Fannie Mae profits.

Tim Howard - Was the Chief Financial Officer of Fannie Mae. Howard 'was a strong internal proponent of using accounting strategies that would ensure a 'stable pattern of earnings' at Fannie. In everyday English - he was cooking the books. The Government Investigation determined that, 'Chief Financial Officer, Tim Howard, failed to provide adequate oversight to key control and reporting functions within Fannie Mae,'

On June 16, 2006, Rep. Richard Baker, R-La., asked the Justice Department to investigate his allegations that two former Fannie Mae executives lied to Congress in October 2004 when they denied manipulating the mortgage-finance giant's income statement to achieve management pay bonuses. Investigations by federal regulators and the company's board of directors since concluded that management did manipulate 1998 earnings to trigger bonuses. Raines and Howard resigned under pressure in late 2004.

Howard's Golden Parachute was estimated at $20 Million!

Jim Johnson - A former executive at Lehman Brothers and who was later forced from his position as Fannie Mae CEO. A look at the Office of Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight's May 2006 report on mismanagement and corruption inside Fannie Mae, and you'll see some interesting things about Johnson. Investigators found that Fannie Mae had hidden a substantial amount of Johnson's 1998 compensation from the public, reporting that it was between $6 million and $7 million when it fact it was $21 million.' Johnson is currently under investigation for taking illegal loans from Countrywide while serving as CEO of Fannie Mae.

Johnson's Golden Parachute was estimated at $28 Million.

WHERE ARE THEY NOW?

FRANKLIN RAINES? Raines works for the Obama Campaign as Chief Economic Advisor

TIM HOWARD? Howard is also a Chief Economic Advisor to Obama

JIM JOHNSON? Johnson hired as a Senior Obama Finance Advisor and was selected to run Obama's Vice Presidential Search Committee

IF OBAMA PLANS ON CLEANING UP THE MESS - HIS ADVISORS HAVE THE EXPERTISE - THEY MADE THE MESS IN THE FIRST PLACE. Would you trust the men who tore Wall Street down to build the New Wall Street ?

Bringing Politics To The Pulpit

Pastors all across the country are choosing to bring politics to the pulpit by taking part in "Pulpit Freedom Sunday."
By Jon Jordan, NEWS 9
OKLAHOMA CITY -- Pastors all across the country are choosing to bring politics to the pulpit by taking part in "Pulpit Freedom Sunday." This movement was created to try and an erase a 54-year-old law that prevents pastors from preaching politics.
Sunday morning, Pastor Paul Blair gave a different type of sermon at the Fairview Baptist Church. The sermon had him endorsing a candidate for president, something the law makes clear he isn't supposed to do.
But Pastor Blair didn't stop there. He also went ahead and outlined the differences between the two candidates for president.
Pastor Blair brought up gay marriage and told his congregation it would be a mistake to vote for Senator Obama because in his words Obama "doesn't defend the sanctity of the home."
"As a Christian, a born again believer in Jesus Christ, as a citizen of the United States of America, I will be casting my vote in the November election for the patriot John Sydney McCain, not for Barack Hussein Obama," Pastor Blair said during his sermon.
According to the IRS, the law specifically states a pastor speaking from the pulpit cannot endorse a candidate nor should he compare voting records of candidates.
After Pastor Blair gave his sermon, he received a big cheer from those in the church. His members were very supportive.
However, because he gave the sermon, he does put his church at a financial risk. Pastor Blair is believed to be one of hundreds of other pastors in 22 states taking part in "Pulpit Freedom Sunday."

Pastors Flout Tax Law With Political Sermons

CROWN POINT, Ind., Sept. 28 -- Defying a federal law that prohibits U.S. clergy from endorsing political candidates from the pulpit, an evangelical Christian minister told his congregation Sunday that voting for Sen. Barack Obama would be evidence of "severe moral schizophrenia."
The Rev. Ron Johnson Jr. told worshipers that the Democratic presidential nominee's positions on abortion and gay partnerships exist "in direct opposition to God's truth as He has revealed it in the Scriptures." Johnson showed slides contrasting the candidates' views but stopped short of endorsing Obama's Republican opponent, Sen. John McCain.
Johnson and 32 other pastors across the country set out Sunday to break the rules, hoping to generate a legal battle that will prompt federal courts to throw out a 54-year-old ban on political endorsements by tax-exempt houses of worship.
The ministers contend they have a constitutional right to advise their worshipers how to vote. As Johnson put it during a break between sermons, "The point that the IRS says you can't do it, I'm saying you're wrong."
The campaign, organized by the Alliance Defense Fund, a socially conservative legal consortium based in Arizona, has gotten the attention of the Internal Revenue Service. The agency, alerted by opponents, pledged to "monitor the situation and take action as appropriate."
Each campaign season brings allegations that a member of the clergy has crossed a line set out in a 1954 amendment to the tax code that says nonprofit, tax-exempt entities may not "participate in, or intervene in . . . any political campaign on behalf of any candidate for public office."
This time, the church action is concerted. Yet while the ministers say the rules stifle religious expression, their opponents contend that the tax laws are essential to protect the separation of church and state. They say political speech should not be supported by a tax break for the churches or the worshipers who are contributing to a political cause.

The Financial Crisis

I received this from a friend of mine in Penn. It makes a lot of sense.

THE FINANCIAL CRISIS EXPLAINED
As the financial markets tumbled recently, the average American wondered: "What happened?" "Is my money safe?" "How do I pronounce the second 'N' in Bernanke's name?" It's time for simple explanations.

Every American knows this relates to the housing crisis. Real estate always guaranteed a return because it's the only investment with the word "real" in it. The average home purchased in 1970, was worth 87,000 times that in 2006 (though not quite as much today).

The Fed lowered interest rates in the 90s because they liked to mess with the economy. You could buy more money with less money. Money became cheaper. Money was so cheap, it could take itself out to a fancy dinner and still have money to see a show. Banks loaned money to virtually anyone. Suddenly people who could couldn't afford a non-fat vente caramel machiatto were buying McMansions.

Why were banks lending money to people who couldn't afford it? Why weren't banks lending to people who couldn't afford it!? People who can't afford things are the best people to loan to because they're stupid. They don't even know what the letters "APR" stand for. Banks started making, not millions, bazillions (with a "b").

Banks also loaned money to each other to keep the market "liquid." Let's say, I'm Sally Citibank and I have lots of money tied up with those stupid people and I need liquidity. Picture a viscous fluid, like motor oil, poured all over a pile of money. Now picture that money and motor oil being shoved through a pipe and someone on the other end receiving the dollars and oil. The person receiving has to clean the money. Not launder it, just get the oil off it. Actually, this is not a good metaphor, so hold that thought.

Meantime the numerological necromancers on Wall Street devised credit-derivative fault-line swap-meets and everybody wanted in on the deal. No one really understood these instruments or why there were so many hyphens or even why the word "swap" sounds dirty.

This went on for some time while the U.S. government sat by like a parent asleep on the couch while their two year old plays with matches, broken glass and liquid bleach. Ultimately, those people who couldn't afford anything turned out to be smart. When they couldn't pay their bills they did something no one expected: they didn't pay their bills.

Everybody started calling everybody asking for money. No one knew where the stupid people went. Their houses went on the market. No one wanted those houses because stupid people lived in them. Values plummeted. People panicked. The market applied Head-on directly the its collective forehead.

See, the market is like a see-saw with the really fat kid on one end and a bunch of smaller kids on the other side stuck in the air. When the fat kid gets off the see-saw and lets his side go, what happens? The greatest minds of Wall Street had no idea.

No one had ever thought the fat kid would get off his side. They thought if they just kept feeding him and kept his legs from cramping, he'd never get off. No one thought the fat kid might get bored. The fat kid went home and the smaller kids went home too and some sat in their room drawing nasty pictures of the fat kid.

It was up to the government to step in and say, "What the hell is going on here!? Why are you drawing those pictures? Why aren't you getting more exercise instead of sitting on a see-saw and eating. Who poured motor oil on this big pile of money?"

The government is in a unique position because it can print money. The government can also regulate the markets by borrowing from itself with a low teaser rate then not pay itself back and then default on the loan and finally raise taxes.

Who pays for this? The American Taxpayer. Luckily, the American Taxpayer doesn't really exist. Taxpayers are like extras in the movies. They do nothing important and just walk around in the background.

We haven't answered all of the questions and there will be more uncertainty. "How can this be prevented? Will this happen again? Where can I learn to print money?" For the moment, the answer is clear: remain calm, stay informed and don't say you don't understand. It's all very simple.

Obama Not Exactly

TERRY ANDERSON, A BLACK LOS ANGELES TALK RADIO HOST, WENT DOWN A LIST OF THINGS SENATOR OBAMA HAS SAID THAT AREN'T EXACTLY CORRECT.

Obama's Not Exactlys:
1.) Selma March Got Me Born - NOT EXACTLY, your parents felt safe enough to have you in 1961 - Selma had no effect on your birth, as Selma was in 1965. (Google'Obama Selma ' for his full March 4, 2007 speech and articles a bout its various untruths.)
2.) Father Was A Goat Herder - NOT EXACTLY, he was a privileged, well educated youth, who went on to work with the Kenyan Government.
3.) Father Was A Proud Freedom Fighter - NOT EXACTLY, he was part of one of the most corrupt and violent governments Kenya has ever had.
4.) My Family Has Strong Ties To African Freedom - NOT EXACTLY, your cousin Raila Odinga has created mass violence in attempting to overturn a legitimate election in 2007, in Kenya . It is the first widespread violence in decades. The current government is pro-American but Odinga wants to overthrow it and establish Muslim Sharia law. Your half-brother, Abongo Oba ma, is Odinga's follower. You interrupted your New Hampshire campaigning to speak to Odinga on the phone. Check out the following link for verification of that....and for more.
Obama's cousin Odinga in Kenya ran for president and tried to get Sharia muslim law in place there. When Odinga lost the elections, his followers have burned Christians' homes and then burned men, women and children alive in a Christian church where they took shelter.. Obama SUPPORTED his cousin before the election process here started. Google Obama and Odinga and see what you get. No one wants to know the truth.
5.) My Grandmother Has Always Been A Christian - NOT EXACTLY, she does her daily Salat prayers at 5am according to her own interviews. Not to mention, Christianity wouldn't allow her to have been one of 14 wives to 1 man.
6.) My Name is African Swahili - NOT EXACTLY, your name is Arabic and 'Baraka' (from which Barack came) means 'blessed' in that language. Hussein is also Arabic and so is Obama.
Barack Hussein Obama is not half black. If elected, he would be the first Arab-American President, not the first black President. Barack Hussein Obama is 50% Caucasian from his mother's side and 43.75% Arabic and 6.25% African Negro from his father's side. While Barack Hussein Obama's father was from Kenya , his father's family was mainly Arabs.. Barack Hussein Obama's father was only 12.5% African Negro and 87.5% Arab (his father's birth certificate even states he's Arab, not African Negro). From....and for more....go to.....

7.) I Never Practiced Islam - NOT EXACTLY, you practiced it daily at school, where you were registered as a Muslim and kept that faith for 31 years, until your wife made you change, so you could run for office.
4-3-08 Article 'Obama was 'quite religious in islam'' http://www.wnd.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=60559
8.) My School In Indonesia Was Christian - NOT EXACTLY, you were registered as Muslim there and got in trouble in Koranic Studies for making faces (check your own book).
February 28, 2008. Kristoff from the New York Times a year ago: Mr. Obama recalled the opening lines of the Arabic call to prayer, reciting them with a first-rate accent. In a remark that seemed delightfully uncalculated (it'll give Alabama voters heart attacks), Mr. Obama described the call to prayer as 'one of the prettiest sounds on Earth at sunset.' This is just one example of what Pamela is talking about when she says 'Obama's narrative is being altered, enhanced and manipulated to whitewash troubling facts.'
9.) I Was Fluent In Indonesian - NOT EXACTLY, not one teacher says you could speak the language.
10.) Because I Lived In Indonesia , I Have More Foreign Experience - NOT EXACTLY, you were there from the ages of 6 to 10, and couldn't even speak the language. What did you learn except how to study the Koran and watch cartoons.
11.) I Am Stronger On Foreign Affairs - NOT EXACTLY, except for Africa (surprise) and the Middle East (bigger surprise), you have never been anywhere else on the planet and thus have NO experience with our closest allies.
12.) I Blame My Early Drug Use On Ethnic Confusion - NOT EXACTLY, you were quite content in high school to be Barry Obama, no mention of Kenya and no mention of struggle to identify - your classmates said you were just fine
13.)An Ebony Article Moved Me To Run For Office - NOT EXACTLY, Ebony has yet to find the article you mention in your book. It doesn't, and never did, exist.
14.) A Life Magazine Article Changed My Outlook On Life - NOT EXACTLY, Life has yet to find the article you mention in your book. It doesn't, and never did, exist.
15.) I Won't Run On A National Ticket In '08 - NOT EXACTLY, here you are, despite saying, live on TV, that you would not have enough experience by then, and you are all about having experience first.
16.) Voting 'Present' is Common In Illinois Senate - NOT EXACTLY, they are common for YOU, but not many others have 130 NO VOTES.
17.) Oops, I Misvoted - NOT EXACTLY, only when caught by church groups and Democrats, did you beg to change your misvote.
18.) I Was A Professor Of Law - NOT EXACTLY, you were a senior lecturer ON LEAVE.
19.) I Was A Constitutional Lawyer - NOT EXACTLY, you were a senior lecturer ON LEAVE.
20.) Without Me, There Would Be No Ethics Bill - NOT EXACTLY, you didn't write it, introduce it, change it or create it.
21.) The Ethics Bill Was Hard To Pass - NOT EXACTLY, it took just 14 days from start to finish.
22.) I Wrote A Tough Nuclear Bill - NOT EXACTLY, your bill was rejected by your own party for its pandering and lack of all regulation - mainly because of your Nuclear donor, Exelon, from which David Axelrod came.
23.) I Have Released My State Records - NOT EXACTLY, as of March, 2008, state bills you sponsored or voted for have yet to be released, exposing all the special interests pork hidden within.

27.) I Passed 26 Of My Own Bills In One Year - NOT EXACTLY, they were not YOUR bills, but rather handed to you, after their creation by a fellow Senator, to assist you in a future bid for higher office.
28.) No One on my campaign contacted Canada about NAFTA - NOT EXACTLY, the Canadian Government issued the names and a memo of the conversation your campaign had with them.
29.) I Am Tough On Terrorism - NOT EXACTLY, you missed the Iran Resolution vote on terrorism and your good friend Ali Abunimah supports the destruction off Israel
30.) I Want All Votes To Count - NOT EXACTLY, you said let the delegates decide.
31.) I Want Americans To Decide - NOT EXACTLY, you prefer caucuses that limit the vote, confuse the voters, force a public vote, and only operate during small windows of time.
32.) I passed 900 Bills in the State Senate - NOT EXACTLY, you passed 26, most of which you didn't write yourself.
33.) I Believe In Fairness, Not Tactics - NOT EXACTLY, you used tactics to eliminate Alice Palmer from running against you.
34.) I Don't Take PAC Money - NOT EXACTLY, you take loads of it.
35.) I don't Have Lobbysists - NOT EXACTLY, you have over 47 lobbyists, and counting.
36.) My Campaign Had Nothing To Do With The 1984 Ad - NOT EXACTLY, your own campaign worker made the ad on his Apple in one afternoon.

So, who EXACTLY is this Obama guy and what is he trying to sell us?! Please get to work now...not enough of your loved ones and friends know about this fraud.

Obama Wants Stalinist, Police State Tactics

A St. Louis television station reports their words "The Barack
Obama campaign is asking Missouri law enforcement to target anyone
who lies or runs a misleading TV ad during the presidential campaign."

Prosecutors and sheriffs from across Missouri are joining "The Barack
Obama Truth Squad."

They mention Jennifer Joyce, St. Louis Circuit Attorney and Bob
McCullough, prosecutor for St. Louis County in Missouri.

The reporter says, "They will be reminding voters that Barack Obama
is a Christian who wants to cut taxes for anyone making less than
$250,000 a year." A Christian what a joke!!

While the report never quite comes out and says that anyone running
an ad saying those things would be subject to prosecution, that
certainly is the message implied. Oh, but it is OK for the guy who claims to be a Christian to lie in his ads.
Not all things that are wrong are illegal. Saying that Barack Obama
is a Muslim is wrong, but it does not warrant prosecution by the state.

I would cite Jonah Goldberg's Liberal Fascism, but an angry mob just
took my copy to their book-burning...

UPDATE: AIP responds:

Washington, DC September 26, 2008 ? Barack Obama is now using
local law enforcement officials to carry out his campaign of legal
intimidation by assembling a group of high-ranking Missouri police
officials and prosecutors including St. Louis County Prosecutor
Bob McCullough and City of St. Louis Circuit Attorney Jennifer Joyce
to identify and target anyone the campaign determines is
producing misleading political advertisements.

This is an outrageous and shocking attempt by the Obama campaign to
again employ Stalinist, police state tactics against those who dare
to disagree with Barack Obama, said Ed Martin, American Issues
Projects president. I am frankly stunned to see public officials
like McCullough and Joyce abusing their official prosecutorial
positions to serve as attack dogs for a national political campaign.
I am quite certain Missourians elected these individuals to enforce
the laws and arrest criminals, not to throw people in jail for daring
to practicing free speech.

"The Obama campaign continues to provide a chilling preview of what
would happen to political freedom in an Obama administration.

This new effort is only the most recent attempt by the Obama campaign
to crack down on free speech. Obama’s lawyers twice demanded the
Department of Justice investigate and prosecute the American Issues
Project, its officers, board of directors, and donors. The campaign
also threatened stations running American Issues Project’s ad in an
unsuccessful attempt to compel them to pull the spot, and ran its own
ad in response.

Notably, this ad failed to dispute a single fact the American Issues
Project has put forth.

You heard it here. If The Obama is elected, public dissent against
his regime will be a crime.

the ghosts of Stalin, Hitler, Mussolini, Chairman Mao, and
Lenin clap in approval . .
.

If they get in, with full police powers of the FBI, IRS, and other
agencies they can re-staff, plus the legislative branches in their
hands, nothing will be safe.

Dr. Blick Says No!

Please do not give one dime to ACORN when the final bill is passed on this financial package. Do not let the Dims turn this bill into Christmas gifts for all of their left-wing supporters!

ACORN is a favorite charity of the Dims. Obama worked for ACORN in Chicago ...that says it all !
How much ear-marked money has Obama sent to ACORN since he became a U.S. Senator?

The bill should have a provision that allows tax-payers to access the internet and see where every penny is spent.

Also call for an investigation of Chris Dodd, Barney Frank, and the former heads of Fannie May and Freddie Mac (the guys who made big bucks off this whole scandal)!

We taxpayers are mad and want the bad guys punished!
