Oklahoma Player Selected To
Power Showcase All-World Baseball Team
For Immediate Release - Boca Raton, FL August 29, 2008. The International
High School Power Showcase Home Run Derby has announced that First/Third
Baseman, Cole Cleveland a senior at (Christian Heritage Academy) of Oklahoma
City, OK, has been named to the 2009 Power Showcase All-World and
All-American Baseball Team and will represent Oklahoma in the 3rd Annual
International High School Home Run Derby Finals.
Cole Cleveland a 6' 4" senior at Christian Heritage Academy has a smooth
powerful swing that makes him a home run threat at each at bat. Cole played
the previous two seasons with the OKC Broncos and plays summer baseball for
The Oklahoma Ambassadors where he enjoys the Christian ministry aspect of
the team as much as the baseball.
The Power Showcase brings together the top high school "Power Hitting
Prospects" in the world and provides them with a perfect center-stage
opportunity to hit in major league stadiums. There will be a total of sixty
players; fifty players - one selected from each state & ten foreign players.
These rising high school seniors will step center stage inside the newly
renovated Tropicana Field, home to the Tampa Bay Rays. The showcase will
be held Saturday January 3rd, 2009.
Friday, January 2, 2009 - is Scout Day where several MLB scouts will
evaluate the players during batting practice & positional combine which will
be held at the New York Yankees spring training complex in Tampa. The
welcome dinner will be held inside the Hilton Hotel that evening. Player's
will receive their jerseys' with their names on the back, along with the
abbreviation for their state/country in place of the number.
Each player will receive a total of 30 outs. The 30 outs will be broken
into two 15 out rounds. The players will use both metal and wood bats. When
all sixty players have hit, the top five will advance to the Championship
Round. In the Championship Round, each player will receive 15 outs. The
player can use the bat their chose (wood or metal).The event will be
streamed / webcast live on the internet at www.power-showcase.com. Complete
results will be listed on ESPN.com, Sport Illustrated.com and listed in the
Baseball America magazine and Sport Illustrated magazine.
